The musical impact made by Pink Floyd is significant and everlasting, and their contribution to popular music has inspired and creatively influenced many throughout the years. Syd Barrett, Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Richard Wright and Nick Mason have collectively produced a sound and style that continues to resonate with listeners around the world, and offers those who wish to take up the offer, a journey beyond constraints and outside the ordinary.
Their sonic soundscapes are complexly epic and majestic, real and unreal, and move stylishly between quiet control and urgent, emotional outpourings. Shifting from their earlier psychedelic and ‘space rock’ progressive sound to a more structured (yet still expansive) modern rock format, the band found mainstream success through the 1970’s with their classic ‘concept’ albums Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, and The Wall.
My poster design reflects the highly improvised and experimental earlier period of their career, visually representing the mysterious and vast inner and outer space moods of those pioneering psychedelic days.
